If you can identify all these domes in Buenos Aires, then you have a pretty good idea of what my past few weeks has been like. I’m working hard to get the next PDF finished which lists 75 of our favorite domes in the city. Can’t imagine why no one has done this before… what a great way to explore Buenos Aires!
In case you have already purchased the PDF & want to be sure not to miss these, take note. In order from top to botton are: #07, #03, #33, #48, #04, #59, & #19. Happy hunting!
I always wonder what happens inside those magnificent domes: are people living in there? Or offices with employees? Or just empty spaces full of bats? There should be a tourist circuit to visit the domes inside, the same way some cities have observatories at the top of the sckyscrapers.
A lot of it depends on where the building is located. Downtown it’s almost all offices… but they should open a few up for tourism. Definitely. Larger domes like those of Congreso or most churches are actually double domes–one inside the other–used to increase height. But on the inside they aren’t much to look at. Just construction beams. I’ve been in the domes of Santa Rosa de Lima on Avenida Belgrano. Must repost those photos soon. Saludos!
